Frozen cranberries are prepared from the sound, mature berries of the commonly cultivated cranberry plant. The product is prepared by extra sorting and cleaning, to ensure a wholesome, ready to use product. IQF WHOLE OCEAN SPRAY CRANBERRIES (40 LB CTN) Description The product shall not be adulterated or misbranded within the meaning of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, including the Pesiticide, Chemical and Food Additive Ammendments to this Act. The processor shall obtain written statements from the growers, that only registered pesticides were used and that no illegal or unsafe residues remain on the crops. Flavor & Odor Typically, free from objectionable flavors and odors of any kind. Color Typically, uniform, bright distribution of red, pink and uncolored berries. 90% of the berry surface uniformly red, minimum. 4% whites/green/yellow coloration maximum. Size 95% >/= 13/31” diameter; 20/32” diameter maximum Foreign Material None Defects Equivalent to USDA Grade A. The fruit shall be practically free from harmless extraneous plant matter, stems, major and minor blemishes, foreign matter, rot visible mold, insets, insect fragments, worms and worm holes. Minor blemishes - 3% maximum; major blemishes - 3% maximum. Packaging Enclosed in a non-sealed, 2 ml, blue colored, high density polyethylene bag, inside a corrugated box. Net weight 40 lbs. Labeling All containers must be labeled or have accompanying papers indicating the following: Name of Product UPC Net Weight Plant Designation Date and/or Lot Number Shipping & Storage Ship and store product at zero degrees Fahrenheit or below. Color Bright, fairly uniform red color, typical of properly matured cranberries. Flavor & Odor Normal, free from objectionable flavors and objectionable odors of any kind. Size 3/6” maximum Defects 97% usable fruit with no frosted fruit allowed. The fruit will be practically free from harmless extraneous plant matter, stems, minor blemishes, major blemishes, foreign matter, off odor, rot, visible mold, insects, insect fragments, worms and worm holes. Packaging Enclosed in a non-sealed, 2 ml, blue colored, high density polyethylene bag, inside a corrugated box. Net weight 20 lbs.
